I participated in my first standard distance Duathlon (10k run, 40k cycle, 5k run) in September 2014, I entered the London Duathlon as a challenge and really enjoyed the training and the whole racing experience. 3 weeks later I then entered a GB qualifying race and won my Age Group which qualified me for Team GB. This spring I entered my first Triathlon (braving my fear of swimming) and have achieved some good results, so I have a few more races coming up this summer.
Best or most memorable athletic experience?
So far it would be at British National Championships when I received an unexpected Bronze Medal just 6 months after competing in my first ever Duathon. It was a fantastic feeling being on the podium, this then qualified me for World Championships which I’m very excited about.
Why taking care of your skin is important to your sport and performance?
With all the training I do outside; cycling and running in all-weather I find my skin gets fairly weather beaten and dry. It’s important to me to keep my skin in good condition and hydrated to prevent premature aging!
Why do you use monkey fist (how often)?
I use the hand balm after and before cycling to keep my hands protected and moisturised. I also use it in the evenings on my feet (which tend to get dry from all the running!)
How does monkey fist compare with any other products you have used, when did you first hear of it?
I heard about Monkey Fist from a friend and love that the product is all natural (vegan friendly all natural version) there are no harmful chemicals or preservatives, it contains well sourced ingredients. I also find the balm lasts a long time and the banana one smells of banana bread!
